Warframe: Shrine of the Eidolon icon Join the war and defeat the vast armies of the Grineer in this awesome F2P co-op third-person shooter.

MMOs are not easy to get right, especially nowadays when there are so many options for the players to choose from. Regardless of your favorite genre or theme, there’s something for everyone out there, whether it’s space trading or orcs and dragons. Hence, coming up with something unique and good at the same time proves to be a challenge, although some have managed to it.

Alien wars, powerful battle armors, and plenty of weapons

Warframe is an action-packed MMO shooter in which you get to participate in a variety of missions alongside players from around the world. The purpose is to make use of a set of battle armors called Warframes, which provide those who wear them with specific abilities. However, teamwork is by far the most important element, because each mission is designed in such a way as to force the players to work together, otherwise some of the objectives are simply impossible to complete.

In the beginning, you only have a handful or Warframes to choose from. The story is also revealed to you at this point, and it continues to be expanded on as you manage to complete more and more missions. As it happens, you are a Tenno, awakened after many years of cryogenic sleep in order to protect himself from the bad guys. Over the course of the story, many more encounters like this follow, which add up nicely in the end.

Gather items and craft your own Warframes

One of the most important features in MMOs is the ability to create your own items, using materials gathered from the missions. The game at hand is no different, and you obviously have the option to grind for hours in order to find the required elements, only to craft them into the desired Warframe. However, if that sounds too much of a bother to you, you can always pay for them using real money.

Surprisingly, the game designers did not restrain themselves when it comes to the technical capabilities of the engine, because it certainly looks and feels great. The animations are sublime, the special effects are vibrant and colorful, while the level design is fantastic in most cases. The same goes for the sound, because you can really get into the atmosphere thanks to the tunes playing in the background on a regular basis.

One of the better free-to-play choices out there

All things considered, Warframe may have its fair share of flaws when it comes to repetitive gameplay and a few bugs here and there, but it’s definitely worth checking out. In addition, it looks amazing for an MMO, especially since you are free to unleash hundreds of special attacks using your armor’s abilities.
